Feed Your Faith

Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it, are many. How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few. – Mathew 7: 13 & 14

As women, wives, mothers and grandmothers we nuture all those we love in great abundance, yet seem to fall short when it comes to nurturing ourselves. We continually tell ourselves “I’m too busy,” or “I don’t have time” to plan opportunities that will help us re-fuel and reignite our hearts, minds and spirit. So we carry on with our to-do list, and run on empty; an emptiness that keeps us on a narrow, constricted road to nowhere, filled with fear, doubting our faith and questioning our purpose in this life.

Whenever I feel this way, I begin to plan my getaway trip, a place where I can go to feed my faith and get spiritually renewed. A gift I give to myself that allows me to be the best person I can be. A gift that has become part of my survival kit on this journey in life.

The beautiful lake above is at Cypress Hills provincial park in Saskatchewan, Canada. A favorite place of mine where I sit in stillness; letting God capture my heart with the beauty of His creation. A time to process and pray through, fears and worries. A time when God fills me with a peace the world cannot give.

In Matthew 7:13, we are invited to enter through the narrow gate. Sometimes, this narrow gate is tighter than the gap between the “do’s and “don’ts we have built our lives around. No one passes through this narrow gate alone, and no one ever walks this constricted road unaccompanied.

This is a powerful quote; “feed your faith and your fears will starve to death”. An invitation for you and me to come and have a personal encounter with God, away from everyone. He wants to see you, listen to your worries and fears, soften your heart and assure you of His promises and great love for you.

Are you experiencing something in your life right now where the way seems too hard and the gate too narrow? Are you searching for answers?

Come and sit with Him; God is waiting to dispense His grace
