The joy of the Lord is your strength- Nehemiah 8:10
I was having an overwhelming day and decided that the best therapy for me would be to go shopping. As I went in and out of different stores: I had experienced various clerks who seemed to be unhappy; wearing a frown and not willing to give of their time to help. It kind of put a damper on my enjoyment of shopping; but at the same time I overlooked it, and entered the door of one more store. All of a sudden this young woman leapt towards me with a huge smile from ear to ear and said” boy is this your lucky day because I have an amazing outfit that will make you look great!” I walked out of that store with a new outfit and a new outlook on life!
That day God reminded me that a smile is not just for my appearance alone but that it is a gift and I need to give it away! My smile is attached to a positive attitude, confidence and makes me more attractive to others. My smile is God’s smile, and He is asking me to brighten up the world as it is the one thing that can be understood in every language. God is asking me to let my smile warm the heart of a cold person who might be living in a troubled life.
According to internet research, the average woman smiles 62 times a day while the average man only smiles eight times a day. Psychologists say a genuine smile never lies. Fake smiles involve only the mouth, while real smiles reach up to the eyes. A Mark Twain quote from 1897 says that “wrinkles should merely indicate where smiles have been.” So women, be proud of your wrinkles!
As you rush through your busy days accomplishing your tasks—work, kids, shopping, cleaning, and eating on the go, you can feel better throughout the day and also be more attractive. All you have to do is smile. You go girl!
