When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned.
The flames will not harm you, I am the Lord your God
Isaiah 43: 2
Three years ago, a group of us ladies had been praying for a two year old boy diagnosed with cancer of the spine. Today; he is five years old, still fighting the battle as he perseveres through the many chemo treatments. Taking everything into consideration; doctors are amazed at his progress. Each day the family members are challenged in their faith and have many unanswered questions. Have you ever questioned your circumstances or things you just can’t understand?
When I find myself in the midst of adversity; I feel weak, my vision becomes blurred by doubt and fear; leading me further away from my faith in God. My frustration gets so out of hand; I just wanna scream! I find myself in a place of total surrender. A beautiful place where God can now do His will in this situation.
As I look at all the victories God has already brought me through; my spirit rises up within me. I realize that it’s through the fire my weakness is being made strong. I’ve never been forsaken by God; I’ve never had to stand the test alone; God has always shown up!
Have you ever been caught in a hot burning fire? In order to not get burned and save ourselves we must go through it! We cannot go above, below, or around the fire. We trust the hand of God to shield us from the flames and see us through to the other side.
God never promised that the cross would not get heavy or that the hill would not be hard to climb. He never offered our victories without fighting but he said help would always come in time. Just remember, when you’re standing in the valley of decision and the adversary says give in; just hold on; our Lord will show up, and He will take you through the fire again and again.
God cleanses us with the fire of His love. He loves us where we are at right now, but loves us too much to leave us there!
